A Little Bit About Me

Hi! My name is Lizzie Joy Broschat and I am a 20 year old English student at Northern Arizona University. Two things that have been constant in my life since before I can remember are storytelling and music. I was never quite sure how those two things could fit together until I was in a local production of The Sound of Music and, as we theatre kids say, "caught the bug" for musical theatre. A similar thing happened when I participated in National Novel Writing Month last year. As silly as it sounds, I felt like writing was something I was destined to do.

Now, I plan on writing, singing, and being just a little too dramatic for the rest of my natural life. If that means coming up with stories and songs on the side while working regular jobs, that's what it means. It would be all right if that means being a freelance writer full time, too, but no one's that optimistic.

Though it is still in its infancy, you can find all of my past short stories and essays (which are presentable) here, as well as writing prompts of various genres. Short, daily blog posts will cover my opinions, observations, and lessons learned on all things musically theatrical and whimsically literary. Expect discussions of feminism, animation, and design. There may even be some hot takes.
